My Weekend Recap- Part 2

Hi Guys,

Sorry I was SO tired yesterday that I couldn't finish writing about my weekend!  But now I'm refreshed and ready.  So here goes- let's start where I left off.

After spending two great days in Blacksburg, it was time to say goodbye to my cousins and head home.

My family decided it would be fun to check out some wineries on the way home, so first we stopped at AmRHein Winery outside of Roanoke, VA.  My Moms and Aunt Jenny were excited because they had tasted their wine at a festival last week!  And it did not disappoint.  Plus, they're dog friendly on their grounds AND in the tasting room!  As long as you're on a leash of course...

Momma says their wines are really reasonably priced, so we left with bottles to take home with us!  I of course made sure no others came up and stole our wine!

After that stop, we headed down the road until my Mom saw a sign for Fincastle Winery.  We had never heard of them, but they were pretty close off the exit, so we pulled off and went!  And boy are we glad we did!

They're really dog friendly as well- and they have two nice winery dogs that live there and are really sweet.  I really liked the German Shepard.  But they also had a lot of fun smells and a pond that I helped myself to!  And they let my family do their tasting outside because it was a beautiful Fall day!

Plus, Mom said their wine is really good.

You would think after all this excitement, we could head home.  But no!  They decided we needed lunch and since we were passing Lexington, VA, we stopped at Momma's family farm for some really good food!  And I got to spend some time outside.  I love the farm.  It's got so many great smells!  And Cows!

But we couldn't stay long because it was already getting late in the day.  So we finally started our last leg home.  I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open!

And now you know all about my weekend!  Oh- and before I forget.  Momma wanted me to pass along links to our two new favorite wineries from this past weekend:

Here and Here.

Now I'm off to sleep some more and tomorrow I'll tell you all about dinner with Cousin Blake.

Happy Trails!

Jack
