What a Weekend!

Hi Guys-

This past Saturday we had unseasonably warm weather in Virginia for January.  It got into the 50s/60s so my family decided we had to take advantage!

With the windows rolled down, we decided to take part in our favorite weekend activity:  Wine Tasting!

We live pretty close to several- I'm talking 100's of wineries.  But we decided to concentrate on two of our favorites that we've been to before:  Bluemont Vineyard and Crushed Cellars. I've written about them before, but let me tell you- I always have such a great time!

Our first stop was Bluemont.  It's such a pretty drive and to get there you have to go up a pretty large hill!  But the view is worth it.

We got a seat on the upstairs patio.  Since it wasn't crowded, dogs were allowed in the tasting room- but we wanted to take advantage of the sun!

We had so much fun sitting outside and laughing and talking and cuddling!

And I also got to meet a few new friends that I went to sit with that gave me all sorts of love and cuddles!

Our next stop was Crushed Cellars.  If you've read my blog, you know my family LOVES this place.  And word has gotten out.  It used to be just us and the winemaker, but now we had to actually look for a table!  We're so excited that they're finally getting the crowds they deserve.

They had this great cheese and meat platter that we ate up, it was so good!  Momma even gave me a few bites of the goat cheese- yummy!

And there was a little boy there too that kept giving me all sorts of attention.  I was such a good boy, that the owner gave me my favorite treat (and the reason that I love this vineyard):  a fresh bone to chew on!

Lip smacking good!

But the best part of my day was spending it with my family!

After the two wineries, I was pretty tired, so we started home.

And I spent the rest of the day catching up on my sleep.

All in all, I give this day two paws up!

Happy Trails!

Jack
